The Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP) is a career development program for minority high school students. In order to be eligible, an application, a current copy of your academic transcript and at least two counselor/teacher letters of recommendation must be received by the deadline, which is Tuesday, January 31, 2017 for this fiscal year. What is the summer residency?
The primary objective of ACAP is to increase the understanding of accounting and finance career opportunities among high school students from underrepresented ethnic groups. Through ACAP‘s efforts, students receive educational enrichment and practical help for college preparation and a career in accounting. The annual program is held during the summer at a local college campus and is scheduled this fiscal year for June 25, 2017 through June 30, 2017.

Kimberly Crite currently serves as the Chair of ACAP Philadelphia. She is currently employed as a senior tax associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Wealth Management Tax Services Group. She graduated from Temple University with a BBA in Accounting. Kimberly looks forward to empowering the youth to reach their highest potential no matter the circumstance.
Bridget R. Anderson
ACAP Vice Chair
Bridget R. Anderson currently serves as the Vice Chair of ACAP in Philadelphia. She is currently employed with the City of Philadelphia, Commerce Department in the Office of Finance and Administration as an Accountant. She graduated from Temple University with a BBA in
Accounting and a minor in Management Information Systems. Bridget looks forward to educating ACAP students more about the many
possibilities available in the business field.
Alonna L. Whittle currently serves as the Secretary for ACAP. She is currently a Staff Accountant with Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP working in the audit department. Alonna is an alumni of Temple University with a BBA in Accounting. Alonna is also a proud alum of the ACAP program in which she participated in 2008. Alonna enjoys being involved with the ACAP program because it is a great way to expose underrepresented youth to accounting and Corporate America. Alonna values the ACAP program because the program helped her to understand accounting and business while she was attending an agricultural high school. Alonna is currently aspiring to become a licensed CPA in the state of Pennsylvania and is looking forward to working in public accounting in the years to come.
Participant Selection Committee Director
Alainey Mcdaniels currently serves as the Director of the Participant Selection Committee of ACAP in Philadelphia. She is a sophomore at Saint Joseph’s University, majoring in Accounting and Business Intelligence. Alainey has occupied many leadership roles throughout her school career. Most recently, she completed an accounting internship with PricewaterhouseCoopers. As a Philadelphia native, Alainey is excited to partner with ACAP to give back to the community she calls home.
Teka currently serves as the Program Director for ACAP. Teka is a certified public accountant (CPA) who works as a Senior Internal Auditor at Impax Laboratories, a pharmaceutical company. Before starting at Impax she worked as a Senior Associate in the audit practice at KPMG, LLP. She graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelors’ and Masters’ degree in Accountancy. Teka is excited about the opportunity to give back to the youth in the community.
ACAP Alumni Relations
Gloria Scott is an accountant at AmeriHealth Casualty, a full-service third-party administrator (TPA) that coordinates access to claims services, medical management, and provider networks exclusively to self-insured customers. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Accounting. She has been a member of NABA for several years, currently serving as the Alumni Relations chair for the ACAP Program.
